Cyclamen - Cyclamen

Cyclamen, also known as Poor man's orchid, is a beautiful plant with red, white, pink or lavender flowers and heart shaped waxy leaves on the bottom. They grow to about 12 inches tall and if cared for appropriately will bloom from October to April.

Temperature & Humidity
Maintain average temperature of about 68F during the day and 10 degrees cooler at night. Protect it from all drafts. Raise humidity in its vicinity.

Light

The Cyclamen does best in medium light - place it close to an east window.

Water
Keep your plant evenly moist when in bloom. Water directly into soil and not on the leaves to avoid crown rot. It needs less water after bloom period is over.

Fertilize weekly with a commercial houseplant fertilizer during active growth.

Caution
All Cyclamen species are poisonous. They have been used medicinally but are toxic. Keep away from pets and children.
